How we checked privacy: After opening the file we reviewed the browser’s network log. No request sent the image to a server; only ad and analytics requests appeared. The official privacy policy also says opened files never leave your device.

When to use it
Pick it when you receive a PSD on a computer without Photoshop and need to fix text or layers, or when you don’t want client images on someone else’s server.
Before you use it
The free version shows ads on the right. Everything runs on your own computer, so very large files depend on its speed. The first page is a landing page; press “Start using Photopea” to open the editor.
How to use it
- Open photopea.com and press Start.
- Use File → Open to load a PSD or image (or drag it in).
- Edit, then File → Export as, pick JPG or PNG, check quality and size, and save.
